Uffie – Cool

Pick up a mood thermometer and you’ll see that coolness is just couple of degrees from frigidity. Warmth or fire seems suddenly appealing, offering enthusiasm in favour of indifference. What does Uffie think? Judging by the lyrics to Cool, she thinks being cool is cool. This kind of cool means happiness or agreement, rather than a permanent state of inscrutable iciness. Also, it comes with a tidy little bass hook that will grab you like you’re a malnourished chub.

Whatever it all means, I’m extremely pleased to see Uffie back on the playlist. She’s a kind of ex-enfant terrible, unlike the rest of us, who are mostly just ex-enfants. She burst upon us in 2009 with Pop The Glock, which involved a lot of being young, fresh, half-French and fully full of sweary attitude. It was great. Can you still be full of sweary attitude ten years down the line? Of course, this blogs has no truck with fudgy doubters who claim that graceless ageing is an error. In fact, let’s just reject the whole enfant terrible concept. Who cares how old you are? You are just terrible or you’re not. Cool.
